Nature hikes in Japan
Due to the Japanese landscape, it is only natural that the country has developed a dynamic hiking environment that goes well with its geography. Here you can find a hike to any liking from long hikes in natural parks to short and easy day treks, the hikes differ by climate or difficulty levels:
Easy level: the tracks are not too far away from the city center as well as easily accessible by public transportation. Easy level tracks are also close to different amenities such as shops, restaurants, and public restrooms. This level is perfect for beginners who are just starting out as well as those who are hiking with children.
We recommend :
Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto, hands down, one of the most beautiful hikes that lead up to the sacred mountain of Fushimi.
Medium level: trails are starting to become a bit steeper and longer, more equipment and better hiking shoes are required.
We recommend:
Mount Fuji, the king of the mountains. Thousands of hikers attempt climbing the giant every year.
Difficult level: long and steep trails that require experience, navigation and professional equipment, not suitable for children.
We recommend :
Daigoji Temple, Kyoto, a steep mountain trail through lush and stunning forests.
